This test measures distance stereopsis. One eye sees one pair of triangles while the other sees the other pair. The central circle is seen binocularly.
The disparity can be varied using the Vertical Scrollbar on the Floating Control Window or by pressing the Vertical Cursor Control keys on the keyboard or remote. The current disparity is displayed on the screen and the Test Information Bar on the Floating Control Bar. The disparity increments depend on the viewing distance and can be positive or negative.
The disparity should be set to zero and then slowly increased until the patient reports that the triangles appear to be closer or further away than the dot. This provides an estimate of their distance stereoacuity.
