Phoria
The Phoria test shows the horizontal gaze location of each eye in real time and calculates the disparity in prism dioptres. This can be used in conjunction with the IR transparent occluder to assess strabismus and phorias.
To select the Phoria test, select the Real-time tab at the top of the control screen and then select Phoria.
This will display the Phoria window as shown below:
The display shows the patient's current pupillary distance (PD) and the current screen viewing distance.
Hor disparity shows the horizontal disparity between the gaze position of the left and right eyes in prism dioptres.
Vert disparity shows the vertical disparity between the gaze position of the left and right eyes in prism dioptres.
The fixation target can be moved to various positions on the screen using the Fixation grid which allows the clinician to gauge concomitancy.
The test can be used in conjunction with the IR transparent occluder (provided with the Clinical Eye Tracker) to perform an interactive cover test. The IR transparent occluder allow the position of the eye behind the cover to be measured.
