Alignment
The Clinical Eye Tracker 5L uses the Tobii 5L device to determine the position of the eyes. The bar uses infra-red cameras to detect the pupil of each eye and determine the position of gaze.
The system in non-invasive and requires minimal calibration and setup. It automatically compensates for viewing distance and head movements within a certain range avoiding the need for head/ chin rests. However, for best results, the viewing distance must be within a certain range and the head reasonably well centred relative to the Tobii 5L.
In Alignment mode, a representation of the patient's eyes will be seen on the screen against the background of a coloured ellipse. The ellipse will be coloured green when the patient is at the optimum distance and will be orange/red if the patient is too close or too far away.
The patient's eyes should be reasonably well centred in the ellipse.
