The Thomson Test Chart can be supplied with two licensing options depending on the intended application and user preference:


Off-line activation licence


A unique serial number is generated when the software is installed.  This is submitted to Thomson Software Solutions and an activation code will be generated for this serial number.


Advantages:

  • No internet access required


Disadvantages:

  • Requires reactivation ever year
  • May only be used with a single computer


On-line activation licence


The software links in with a licence server.  An activation code (provided when the software is purchased) is entered when the software is first installed.  The software periodically checks with the server to ensure that the licence is still valid.


Advantages:

  • Does not require manual activation
  • Licence may be readily transferred to another computer


Disadvantages:

  • Requires internet access
